Hyprolapping

Hyprolap is a highly unique operation. Circulating flat surfaces grind the part with abrasive lapping compound. This process creates flatness on otherwise distorted surfaces.

Hyprolaps have a high production rate and can provide finishes to 5 micro inches as well as tolerances to .0004” flat and parallel within the same limit. Odd shaped pieces, as well as thin and small parts with a maximum diameter of 9 1/2” can also be ground.

Micron can custom lap and polish parts according to the customer’s needs. We frequently work with many different materials and quantities. No job too big or too small!
